Built in 1976 by Delta Marine Industries, the Servant is 43′ long x 13’6″ wide and is a USCG Documented Vessel, (inspected by the USCG yearly for safety and integrity of the hull). Delta Marine Industries was/is the Standard that the larger charter vessels were/are compared to.
When this vessel was built in 1978, fiberglass was cheaper, hence the hull thickness of 1″ fiberglass. Newer vessels have a foam core with fiberglass on the outsides and which while lighter, does not give as smooth a ride as the heavier vessels.
Our vessels are extremely well maintained. We dry dock every year to upgrade our systems, repaint the decks and do interior maintenance. We are the only charter company in Seward with year-round employees who perform the maintenance. Most companies do a splash and dash and hope to get thru the season. We plan our maintenance schedule to eliminate the hopes of getting thru the season. Our captains are the first on the water (April) and the last off (Late Sept).
